Campaign for mobilizing street woman to initiate cooperatives

The increase in Rwandan women, who sell food stuffs in cities´ various streets, has negative effects on the social economic development of the country. Woman mostly work illegally, they do not pay taxes, and automatically their environment is negatively affected. If woman get to understand that legal business operation is highly valuable and beneficial, they will be better off in the long run and serve the society by paying taxes.
Moreover, a life on streets brings a pressuring challenge on their lives and their families including their children, who many times find themselves back on streets instead of going to school.

The life they experience in streets are inadequate for young ladies and lovely mothers who have the courage to stand up and work towards a good living for themselves and their families.

Love&Wealth

But since March 2016, where we started empowering street women informally face to face, they have provided us with reasons and explanations they keep working on the streets, by collecting things.

The major reasons why we have decided to take responsibility with the help of our program LOVE&WEALTH is because we want to be a factor of change to the fowling issues:

  • Extreme poverty,

  • Family conflicts that lead to social violence,

  • Lack of education due to children´s heritage of being raised on the street.

Woman empowerement

This campaign is designed to bring woman together with the necessary motivational strategies to inspire and empower them on a personal level and encouraged them to associate themselves into cooperatives. There each woman may contribute what she is able to, no matter how small it might be. With that community, they can easily get access to different facilities and opportunities, which will further strengthen the development and improvement of their lives. Furthermore, they can provide their children with good education and well-being of their family.
We believe in the necessity of that to raise their belief and hope to have the strength of leaving the streets.
We are also raising funds for their initiating cooperatives to make sure that the lack of suitable finance to run the business is no longer placing a barrier to them. The total number of funds and the associated amount will serve as their working capital for their business activitie
